Recently in the news for possible copyright infringement, I decided to head to Chadder's in American fork to see if it was really everything people claimed it was. Rumors have been flying around cyberspace from, "the owner used to work at In-N-Out" to "it's just like In-N-Out -- only IN Utah" and so on.

Recently, to fend off the litigation, Chadder's added a splash of blue to their interior and exterior. THe blue is a trimming around the windows, doors and a change of red to blue aprons. They are not fond of photographs inside, but now that I've moved into the digital age with a camera phone I have some evidence of what Chadder's is.

The food is a far cry from In-N-Out. The fries are close, the shakes are not even comparable. You can order a normal hamburger, cheeseburger, a "Stubby Double" -- double meat double cheese, a hat trick (3 of each). Shakes, fries, etc. are also available as side orders.

A cheeseburger, fries and drink served in a cardboard box.
Reports from the litigation are saying that Chadder's is going to expand its menu to diversify itself from In-N-Out. Honestly, I didn't know how why In-N-Out was even bother suing this tiny restaurant in out of the way American Fork Utah -- until I went to see what the fuss was about. Judge by the pictures if you must. It's a very thorough copy.
