It has been a great time having my own Web site over the past 7 years. And recently I moved over to an entirely WordPress driven site. This allows me to manage all of my content via php and css, without having the hassles of developing entire new sections.
It also means I am able to leave behind my Moveable Type 3.35 blog that required comments to be disabled due to the influx of spam comments. So comments have returned, and the last years of blog entries have been imported.
My site is still under construction as I try to determine how best to present photo and writing portfolios. I have toyed around a bit with some horizontally-scrolling ideas. We will see how that goes.
Come on and check out memory lane:
2002: The way back machine doesn’t have all of the images cached, but most of the content it still there.
2003: The main photo was taken in San Francisco on one of my first visit’s to meet Dani. The way back machine has a nice archive of this one too.
2004: A year later I took this photo while at aidswalk, kept the mint green color scheme. Check out that archived year.
2005: Downtown Los Angeles on a Saturday morning and a shift to a mustard color scheme. Also archived at the way back machine.
2006: This design came at the end of college when I was able to flesh out an even larger photo and writing portfolio. Sadly I lost most of the images that are shown here in the great computer meltdown of 2007. Check out this archived year at the way back machine.
2007: This most recent design lasted for well over two years and helped me get a few jobs. Those jobs led to a neglect of regular blogging, but a deluge of content for writing and photography. While it isn’t archived yet, it is still here on my own site for posterity.
That brings us to this week, the beginning of March 2010 when I decided to adopt php and more css related elements.
What do you think of the new design?
